The CFS Analytics team has just returned from the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) annual conference in Orlando, Florida. IACP is the largest conference for law enforcement personnel, and is a great opportunity for networking, collaboration, and problem solving among police chiefs and other law enforcement professionals.
This year’s conference featured some special guests. President Trump spoke during the conference, praising the dedication and hard work of law enforcement professionals, and Erik Estrada chatted and took photos with conference-goers in the exhibit hall. It was heartening to witness both figures’ support for the work of law enforcement around the world.
Apart from fascinating sessions on current issues facing law enforcement, it was amazing to see some of the latest technology and resources being developed for law enforcement personnel in the exhibit hall. Police chiefs and other administrative-level officers, including assistant chiefs, captains, sergeants and IT personnel, experienced technology including new police vehicles and bikes, the latest reporting software for RMS and CAD data systems, and other new equipment.
At the CFS Analytics booth, numerous agencies had the chance to experience the tool and see how their departments might benefit from calls-for-service data. Being able to visualize 911 call data in a user-friendly dashboard is vital for making quick, better decisions that law enforcement agencies are faced with every day. It was inspiring to be a part of such an engaging conference and see how technology like CFS Analytics can be deployed to help law enforcement officers on a daily basis.
